There’s a town in Pennsylvania called Johnstown and in 1899 wealthy business men decided to dam a creek for duck hunting on the subsequent pond.
The dam burst, the town was destroyed, and over 2,200 souls were lost. No one went to jail. No one was charged with any crime. Not one.
A town was almost wiped off the map and thousands of people died because of the indifference of millionaires who wanted an exclusive club. And now that same town voted in heavy support of a careless and crudely indifferent “billionaire” president who’s going to resurrect coal mining jobs? (Somehow?)
History is a beautiful thing if we actually learn anything from it. I’d be interested to see how well the town fares in a year or two, once policies begin taking effect.
